Hello and welcome! First and foremost, I'd like to thank you for your time in viewing my portfolio. My name is Eric Chen and my educational journey began when I began to volunteer for my elementary school's afterschool program in high school, where I found comfort working along peers and students with the goal of student joy and engagement in mind.
I believe that one of the best feelings in the world is helping others make meaningful connections that they can be proud of. In my time volunteering at a local church's robotics program, seeing students' determination and heart in making things "work" is a driving sensation that fuels my passion in teaching.
I took this step further and pursued my History BA & 7-12 Social Studies Adolescence Education EdM at the University at Buffalo with the hopes of creating a larger impact for our next generation of learners. I take pride in bridging creativity with fun and meaningful pedagogy in order to make every student feel as though our classroom serves as not only a safe space for learning, but also as a home.
